Early childhood is the most important part in a student's learning process. The children of 2 to 5 years are quick at learning and delivering. They show different behaviors, more independence, they follow instructions, learn different languages and figure out how to communicate.
Al Burooj Juniors adopt kindergarten and Montessori methodology which is an activity-based and practical way of learning where the children learn at their own pace through various activities. The classes are students - centric where the teaching is designed with the students considering it as the major factor. This promotes self-learning & independence. The fun approach boosts the development of the children. To make the learning more interesting and attractive for the little ones we have designed a comfortable environment and a safe place to learn and explore.
The Play area is attractive, with soft flooring mats keeping in mind the students’ safety. The toys in the play area are colourful and child friendly. The furniture in the classes is movable/flexible and can be formed into different shapes depending on the activities organized. The colors selected are pastel and pleasing to the eyes. The classroom boards are magnetic for the display of the materials and effective learning. The classrooms are sanitized and cleanliness is maintained. The classes have audio visual aids which makes learning effective. As this helps in explaining concepts in an easier way with better understanding.
The school celebrates colour days, market day, community helpers day etc every month to create enthusiasm in students to learn different topics apart from the curriculum. The students are motivated to talk around the topic. The students enjoy the actives of the day and spend a jolly time with their classmates.

The basic tenet of Montessori education is that a child learns best in an enriched, supportive environment through exploration, discovery, and creativity with the guidance and encouragement of a well-trained and caring teacher. The individual is considered as a whole and the teacher is an active observer who provides direction and guidance to each child on an individualized basis allowing them to lean at their own pace. In this setting the children develop concentration, motivation, self-discipline and a life long love of learning.
The classroom hosts specially designed, manipulative materials that are self correcting and invite children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice. Our comprehensive program helps children develop their fullest potential through the educational principles of Maria Montessori.
Learning a new language for children is pretty easy as they are in constant learning process. At the age of 3-6 they pay utmost attention to teach and every detail and puts them into practice. Just like any other language, learning Arabic language is not a big deal, especially as it is an inherent human language created by Allah (swt). We provide a classroom where teachers and children are encouraged to talk in Arabic.
Practical life materials and exercises help children to gain concentration, physical coordination (fine motor skills), self esteem, courtesy, grace, sense of responsibility and independence by performing daily tasks, of self care and care of the environment. Some of the exercises include pouring, scooping, sorting, dressing activities, dusting and other general clean up. It also includes lessons in polite manners, such as folding hands, sitting on a chair, walking in line, etc.
In sha Allah, we will be doing 5 Surah hifz for every child in every standard. We also emphasize on developing their tarbiyath by teaching them the basis of aqaaid (faith), ibaadah (worship), akhlaaq (character), deeni-taleem (knowledge) and mu'aa-sharah (community relations) all on the basis of Quran and Sahih Hadeeths only.
In this area children explore a range of materials and activities that develop the sensory-motor capabilities of the five senses. The child develops critical thinking skills and as well as the ability to focus and to classify items. The children learn to order, classify, and describe sensory impressions in a relation to various attributes such as length, temperature, mass, color, shape, sound, etc.
The materials vary in dimensions, shapes, color, size, texture, smell, and taste. Example of these materials are pink tower (series of ten sequential cubes, varying in volume); color tablets (colored objects for matching pairs or grading shapes of color), sound boxes, touch boards and smelling jars.
This area focuses on the fundamental skills needed for success in mathematics. The child is given Montessori math material to manipulate that allow him/her to internalize concepts such as numeration, place value, sequence operations, etc. The students learn linear counting and recognition of numerals, which then leads into simple addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division concepts to ensure a solid math fundamentals before the child enters primary school.
In this area, children are introduced to oral language activities, pre-reading work, writing and reading comprehension. The Montessori language materials provide experiences to develop use of writing instrument and basic skills of reading a written language.
Sandpaper Letters and Matching Objects introduce children to sounds. After the children learn few sounds, they are introduced to blending exercises through moveable letters. Metal insets are used to refine pencil control so that the children may later form the letters. All the while, oral language activities develop listening skills, comprehension and vocabulary. Students also learn the beginning aspects of grammar and sentence structure.
The cultural and science exercises focus on the studies of man and his relationship with the environment.
In this area, the study begins with the introduction of terms such as land, air, and water. Then progresses through the names of continents, countries, and states through hands-on exercises with colored maps, puzzles, globes and flags.
In this area the children are introduced to and experiment with variety of media and materials. Here, they are free to explore and express their creativity and imagination. The may also be invited to create projects that reflects a theme such as the season, a holiday, or subject of study.
